It's been over ten years since Imani Records released a Holiday recording. During the pandemic, Imani label mates, friends, and family gathered at the historic Sear Sound Recording Studio to record a live concert to be streamed on Christmas Eve 2020. The stream was a beautiful way to safely fellowship with everyone from our homes. Three years later, the audio from that stream will be available only on Bandcamp.

GRAMMY® nominated Orrin Evans produced Holiday Extravaganza for Imani Records and features the combined talents of bassist Jonathan Michel, Alex Claffy, Ben Wolfe, Mark Kelly and Matthew Parrish, special guests like guitarist Marvin Sewell, organist Shedrick Mitchell, drummers Mark Whitfield II, Nasheet Waits, and Anwar Marshall. Acclaimed arranger David Gibson contributed some outstanding horn arrangements to add to the various textures of these extraordinary musicians. Imani artist Caleb Curtis is featured throughout the record, with particular attention paid to his transforming version of Dreidel. Vocalists Michelle Lordi, Alexia Bomtempo, Milton Suggs, TC III, Christin Devine, and JD Walter bring a fresh reading to various holiday favorites. The legendary George Cables blesses us with a mesmerizing reading of "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas" to complete the family celebration.
